Meet Prabhulal Sharma from the beautiful city of lakes, Udaipur India. His magnificent ancient art, mother of pearl inlay, has been in his family for many generations and the skills have been passed down from father to son. During the time of the maharaja in India, Prabhulal’s four fathers in Rajasthan were invited to do mother of pearl inlay work in the royal palaces and were rewarded with great honour for their work. Prabhulal’s favourite part on the job is creating and experimenting with new inlay designs and patterns. His favourite design is the flower detail in the mogul inlay pattern. He feels very proud ad honoured that this ancient art is appreciated and respected all over the world.
